I can't explain, you wouldn't understand

Life without roommates (shh, no one will read this either)

Posted by Todd on August 7, 2009

In May I finally moved into my own place for the first time. That put an end to 28 years of suffering the presence of others. Family, friends, fraternity brothers, random Haitians, there was even a few of those hit or miss Craigslist finds.

But, now I am finally free. I may never go back. It’s seriously great, I never get upset about other peoples crap being in the way or finding dirty dishes constantly filling the sink. Well, that’s not true, only now the dirty dishes are mine and I swear I will get to them tomorrow.

It’s just very peaceful, even if I haven’t spent a night alone in weeks. To anyone considering getting their own place, do it. The only drawback I could think of is that since the area I live in is quite expensive I had to sacrifice location a bit to afford a place of my own. However, I would not trade being over a mile from the metro and living alone to be closer and having a roommate.
